Fair Trading Guide

The Fair Trading system helps ensure that all trades on BrickVerse are balanced, legitimate, and safe for both parties. To prevent abuse, scams, and market manipulation, all trades must meet our internal fairness requirements before they can be submitted.

Fairness Ratio

All trades are evaluated using a fairness ratio, which compares the total value of each side of the trade.

  • Current maximum ratio: 3.0 (subject to change)

  • This means:

    • One side of the trade can be at most 3× more valuable than the other side

Example

  • ✅ Allowed: 100 value vs 250 value (2.5× difference)

  • ❌ Not allowed: 100 value vs 400 value (4.0× difference)

If a trade exceeds this ratio, it will be automatically rejected and cannot be submitted.

Cube Trades

This rule also applies to trades involving cubes (currency):

  • Cube requests must be within the fairness ratio when combined with item values

  • Offering or requesting excessive cubes relative to item value will cause the trade to fail validation

Why This Exists

The Fair Trading system is designed to:

  • Prevent spam trades

  • Reduce scam attempts

  • Stop value laundering and artificial inflation

  • Maintain a healthy and stable economy

What Happens If a Trade Is Unfair?

If your trade exceeds the allowed ratio:

  • The trade cannot be submitted

  • You will need to adjust the values on either side

  • This may include:

    • Adding/removing items

    • Adjusting cube amounts

Tips for Fair Trades

  • Try to keep both sides close in value

  • Use item valuation tools like MRAV (Market Recent Average Valuation) as a reference

  • Avoid extreme overpay or underpay offers

  • Double-check cube amounts before sending

Notes

  • The fairness ratio (3.0) may be updated at any time to improve platform safety and balance

  • All trades are automatically checked before submission
